OMG! This year is flying by!
It's hard to believe it's already October isn't it? My mini vacation from school is officially over! *pout* The teacher seems pretty cool though, and thankfully she's not monotone like the last one :P I wanted to drop a quick update as I find waiting more than a couple of days lends to short term memory loss ;)
Sat:
1) Will was supervising, and since he's been putting in 13hr days during the week, he wasn't in the mood with putting up with a long day on Sat. This meant that we got in and out of there without having to be there all day Woot to starting the weekend a couple hours early! (Although with being sick last week, it has me worried to see what my paycheck is this week! 0o)
2) I downloaded a couple of apps on my ipad after seeing this: http://www.drawastickman.com/ on my co-worker's phone that her little boy put on her phone. Try it out! It'll only eat up 5 minutes of your time, and believe me, if it doesn't make you smile, I'll REALLY be surprised :) I downloaded the epic stickman and this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.outfit7.mytalkingtomfree&hl=en Talking Tom app. It took a bit to get them on my ipad, but I di so to play with Lucian. He was getting a bit frustrated with the stickman game, but he seems to LOVE the Talking Tom app (we played with it for over an hour! I think it's going to help his dexterity and manual manipulation to increase (not to mention giving us a great activity to enjoy together :)
3) D&D! Our characters had to defeat the war chieftain and his bodyguard in order to gain the Dwarves help and respect. My character (who is an Orc, but despises all Orcs) killed the chieftain to discover later that he was her brother. All kinds of angst for her to deal with now as she doesn't know how to process this. :P
Sun:
1) A day off! It's been getting chilly, so it was time to get the boys some winter gear. We went out to eat at the Waffle House, and traveled to the thrift store. It was awesome; I got 5 pairs of pants and sweaters for me. Three outfits for Nox (had to go by Wal-Mart later to get him some more since the thrift store didn't really have any 6-9 mo clothes) and 6 pants, 6 sweater shirts for Lucian... Jason only wanted a pair of pants, but all that we bought for $114! I felt quite thrifty ;) I haven't bought clothes for myself since I gave birth to Lucian, so all my clothes were starting to get very tattered and worn. I decided to try and buy some more professional looking clothes to get my mind geared for after I graduate and hopefully take on that 90K job... wishful thinking over here ;)
2) Got the kids clothes pulled out of the drawers and packed away Lucian's for Nox when he's old enough and Nox's for Shannon's little boy that's 3 mo younger than Nox (perfect to give clothes to! =D) Also got quite a bit of time playing Talking Tom in with Lucian :)
3) Watched last week's Forever and last night's Once. Forever's episode was about the clinic serving up youth and vitality at a cost, fun implications with the main character and his pseudo-son and how they relate. I like the female cop (sorry, I suck at names and haven't quite got them down yet :P) Is it me, or does anyone else think they are overly hash to the nerdy mortician? Every time the poor guy tries to talk or relate to the main character he gets basically brushed off as if he doesn't matter. (That's the only thing in this series so far I kind of had to frown at, otherwise I'm enjoying the show immensely :) Once on the other hand... wow. It's kind of depressing how far this show has fallen. I mean come on, you made 'Bo Peep' a villain? Are you freaking serious? *eye roll* The whole episode was just meh. Not the worst drivel I've ever watched, but still quite disappointing :(
Mon:
1) Work went well, and when I got home, Jason and the kids were outside enjoying the lovely weather. I had a slight headache, but it didn't seem too bad at first. I grabbed a shower and laid down to breast feed Nox. By the time Nox was done, my head was really hurting, so I planned to take a nap. Lucian was being super loud to the point I couldn't rest, so I was a bit bitchy when I went into the kitchen to ask for some peace and quiet. This headache became so bad (I think the worst I've ever experienced... and I've had migraines before...) This headache was so bad that laying down with my eyes closed wouldn't stop the horrible pain and nausea. It almost felt worse to lay there which is usually how I'm able to get rid of my headaches the quickest. I stumbled back into the kitchen to take aspirin going back to lay down. Jason came in to the bedroom to ask questions about my class and dinner, and I had started to calm the headache by just concentrating on taking deep breaths and exhaling slowly (to get more oxygen in the blood) and just him talking escalated the pain back up I had to ask him to go away. It was so bad, I was literally drooling... my brow was sweating, and I had beaded sweat under my eyes. I've never had that happen with a headache before. Thankfully after an hour and a half of just laying in the dark not moving the aspirin did its thing, and that debilitating pain was finally gone!
2) Jason had dinner set aside for me, and Lucian came in to sit with me (and alternatively play with the 'kitty' (Talking Tom) :P We hung out, gave the kids their baths, brushed teeth, and put toys away. Lucian was very sweet and didn't fight bed time, which is always nice!
3) I missed my chat time (8:15-9:15) because of my headache, but I did listen to it after putting the kids to bed. The class is international communications in business, which doesn't sound horribly exciting, but after the first class, I was pleasantly surprised that the first assignment looks to be interesting.
I need to get to bed... it's almost 1AM! I spent the past 3.5 hours feeding Nox and being comatose with a headache, so hopefully that rest will help get me through tomorrow a little better... as I need some me time to be an internet junkie ;)
Going to answer a few quick emails and it's off to bed for me!
