...a little late is better than never

I was going on a pretty good clip with my positive posts, but Thursday was just absolutely horrid, and I was pressed to see the positive. Thinking back though, I got to sit down and read a couple books with Lucian where Nox was equally interested.

Spending time with the kids is always a plus. I honestly can't even remember anything more about that day other than it was draining. The days that followed were not bad but super hectic, so I just didn't have time to reflect and post. So, I'll do a brief catch up here as well as share a couple pics of the cat family (since I haven't shared pics of them in forever and [personal profile] ashmedai had wanted to see a pic of Kit-Kat (the female tabby that I've been told is a rarity :D)

Friday:
1)Work went by really fast, so fast that I hadn't realized I'd missed lunch!

2)Took the family to the $1.50 theater and watched Planet of the apes which was just as awesome as the first remake!

3)Nox went to sleep before 1AM so I got more than two hours of sleep!

Saturday:
1)Last day of work before getting a day off is always a positive when you're working 6 days a week, and knowing at the end of the shift you have 11.75 hours of overtime? Even better!

2)I received my student loan stipend, so we took Scott out to eat before he left for corporate yesterday for the week to celebrate no longer being in a deficit financially.

3) D&D night! Always a highlight of the week even though one of the player's characters got killed. Thankfully he's not the type to get as invested in his characters (I totally would have cried LOL! I get WAY too invested in my characters) It helps to only be a couple games into this campaign to not get as attached I'm sure...

Sunday:
1)I got to SLEEP! The kids slept in, and therefore so did we. Wonderous rejuvenation!

2)I spent all day after lunch until 10:30PM writing my draft. I was miserable that my whole day off was spent doing homework, but typing that last sentence was utter elation! I actually got my grade back today... an A- :( He took off 10 points for me being 30 words under the minimum... honestly I hadn't realized I was low since my references put me at 1360 and I needed to be at 1250 to 1500 *shrugs* whatever. Not that big of a deal since I should still keep my 4.0 for the class unless I hugely screw the pooch on my last two assignments (and one is only a 'reflection post' so not much to mess up there...)

3) Boardwalk Empire! I absolutely love gangsters LOL! This show is so well written, I really do adore the roaring 20's and 30's! There aren't a lot of really accurate renditions of this time period, but this show is full of tid bits of history from events going on during the time to the types of social mannerisms, decor, and tech actually used during those days which is always fun to explore.

Monday!
1)As mentioned for Friday, I got my stipend, so I went to my bank, transferred the money into my main account (since this one in Alabama is run by some backwoods idiots that seem to hardly no what they are doing and keep less than banking hours that I prefer to just deal with my previous bank when it comes to all money matters that matter) Anyways, got off work early enough to do that and go home to call and pay the last hospital bill for Nox, the remaining CareCredit balance for Jason's dental deep cleaning, paid off my car insurance policy until January, paid off the Discover card balance (that we've been using to buy groceries, gas etc to get Jason's credit up... and it funded our trip to Dragoncon which put us in the negative since every $1 we spend we subtract from the bank account to keep our records straight) It was really nice to see a positive balance again with all bills paid up to date!

2)Contacted financial aide to get my account straight. I haven't delved too much into the asshattery my school financial aide has put me through just to send me invoices for my classes due to them sending one that couldn't be used during my maternity leave (because the job doesn't pay for classes when I'm not eligible to collect reimbursement... I went back and forth with these people, my job, them, again and again (very frustrating as every time I thought we had an understanding and I'd provided all the information they needed there was something else they had an issue that needed fixing. Long story short, I was able to finish the stipulations needed to finally get my damn invoices, so I can get the last $1640 of the allotted $4000 a calendar year that my job allows. Yay! So glad this will be the last time I'll be getting any excess loan money as all my hospital bills are caught up and I can relax that I won't have to deal with this invoice business until the next calendar year.

3) Got our shopping done for the week after getting a nice nap (the whole family actually got to nap which was much needed =D) I actually have time to write a post (even though I'm horribly behind on emails/post reading... sorry about that 0o I'm hoping to catch up this week as I also finished my discussion board post as well as the two student responses, so I only have the last main assignment to do to be DONE with this class! Yay! Then I get a break! Double yay! XD)

Now then, a few pics to share before I retire for the night! :P

Kit-Kat and Nox hanging on the bed after Nox has gotten a full tummy :P

Ares was giving me difficulties taking a pic without moving all over the place, so I got one petting him (He can always stay still for that ;)

Hercules before and after! =D He still loves laying in the baby's bouncer to this day LOL!

Scott got Lucian an Olaf doll from Wal-Mart that he loves :) He brought him to the table and sat him down for lunch in his chair LOL! Kids are so cute :)
