December 19 - What is your most memorable Christmas memory growing up?

Most memorable... hmm... probably the first Christmas I celebrated on my own. I was a runaway living in a hotel (because I was doing illegal stuff and making some major cash to afford to live weekly in a hotel (run down as it may have been) I had adopted a whole family of cats, the person giving the kittens away was trying to give them away too young because they just wanted to get rid of them :/ So, I took them all in. That was in the summer that July, and at this point the whole family was quite mobile and purrfectly happy :P I had a mini pincher that I'd rescued from an abusive guy that wanted to get rid of her, and at the time, I didn't really know anyone (or trust anyone) so I just had Christmas with my pets LOL! I bought them stockings and wrapped presents for them under the tree (which of course I helped them unwrap and play with on Christmas morning... the cats went super crazy when I put out the catnip! LOL!) I had bought these really cool lights that I'd strung up around the room that had 4 different settings, and I remember enjoying them most when I settled in to bed to sleep and kept them up well after Christmas because it gave the hotel room a homey feel. It was a little lonely, but it was still nice in its own way to. It was the first Christmas that I really felt I'd grown up (or at least felt like an adult ;)

Well, thankfully there was no real complications with either (unless you consider having to have a C-section a complication) I think my body felt a lot less ragged the first time around, and I noticed the differences in my hair, and bones more the first time. My hormones were really out of whack after having Lucian, but with Nox, I didn't feel too differently honestly. I gained a lot of weight with the first one, and I only gained 13 lbs with the second (wasn't going down that road again! LOL!) I had a LOT of heartburn with Nox... I was eating Tums like they were going out of style those last few weeks! XD), and nothing of consequence like that with Lucian. I scheduled a C-section with Nox, so the whole birthing process was kind of weird in that I knew the day I was going to have him, but the avoidance of the prolonged labor was definitely a plus! LOL!

This question immediately brings me back to 7th grade where I entered an art contest winning 2nd prize. I was told I would have won first in not for the name of my piece. I had named it "sunset girl" because it had a picture of a young woman standing in the ocean with the sun setting behind her. The theme of the art show was "beginnings," and I was told if I'd named her sunrise girl I'd have won 1st place. I remember asking to their puzzlement that wasn't sunset just the beginning of night? The man didn't know what to say and only gave me a smile before walking away. So sundown because to this day, I still prefer the beginning of night to the start of the day ;)
