So I went up for my interviews on Friday. It was 2 hours of back to back meetings, but it didn't feel anywhere near that honestly. All the interviewers were cordial and seemed like they were pleased with the answers I gave them, but you never know until all is said and done what they think of me. Regardless, I felt like I did well, so that's all I really have at the moment. They did say that they would converge and talk about the applicants to see who they were picking and that if I was chosen that the HR rep would tell my supervisor to release me when he was able =D

Quick update before I fly off to work, yesterday afternoon I got the call to tell me that they wanted me to drive down to the corporate office and do the live interviews! =D They are putting me up for the night in the Courtyard Marriott of Thurs, I have 4 different interviews with sets of two analysts from 10 to noon. I'm so stoked! XD Wish me luck!

I need to go buy a new outfit to interview and actually invest in some makeup! *screams* So much to do, so little time! Oo

I had my 2nd phone conference today, I was nervous, but not as nervous as the 1st go. The two people I was getting together with I have worked with multiple times in the past, so it made the interview a lot less stressful. They called and one of the first things they said was "We saw your name, and said Jenna's trying to come to corporate! We'd love to pick your brain, and we don't really have any questions for you as we know you're pretty familiar with what we do here, do you have any questions?" *beams* We ended with them telling me that they were going to let Bryan know they spoke to me, and he should follow up with me. If he didn't get back with me by Monday to give him a call. So yeah, I got this job in the bag! Yay! =D This is moving so much faster than I expected it to! I might be in my new job before the end of the month! Oo

Just wanted to say, I returned to my position this week, an opening for demand chain management analyst came open, and with one class until I graduate, I went ahead and applied yesterday. I sent a follow up email with attached cover letter and resume to the person that does the hiring and introduced myself. (I know a few folks in corporate, so I was able to get a name over just applying online (which I did as well.) Well, he wrote me back, and I have a phone interview with him on Tuesday at 11! squee! OMG! I'm terrified and so excited! I did the research, and I'm putting a bid in for 82K =D Wish me luck! I could have a job before the new year roles around!

I know it's been forever since I've updated, and I'm sorry for that. I've been a bit down lately, and life has been crazy for me between school and work. Thankfully I just finished my last assignment for this class, and my next class doesn't start until this coming Sunday, so I get a few days of peace to do what I want to do. (Other than playing Elder Scrolls Online... ha ha yeah, I've been enjoying a bit of PS4 which has me REALLY behind on my emails *blush*)

As you guys know, I didn't get that position I'd wanted, but the girl that got it did deserve it, so I'm happy for her. She was the person who lefts backup, so completely understandable. Also, as a plus, the DC manager told me that I'd impressed him. He had said he was impressed before, but after speaking to me even more so (which made me feel really good especially since he told me he didn't tell everyone that.) I was fine enough continuing on as I was. And then, this...

TGIF! Man I'm glad it's finally Friday! It's been an exhausting week, and I'm only getting Sat off before having to go back in to work Sunday. The paychecks are great, but I'm feeling a bit drained going in to week four of 50+ hour work weeks with one day off and poor sleep since Nox has been rather restless all week allowing for very little sleep... averaging around 2 hours a night... I was excited about the prospect of getting a massage at Virginia College Sat afternoon, but while I was at work, I got a message saying they were closing the clinic tomorrow, so no massage for me... *sigh* Just venting a little sorry. I feel better now ;)

We did go out to Outback tonight as Scott wanted to treat Jason to dinner for his birthday and getting together last weekend wasn't happening. Dinner was excellent too!

cat2000 and I have been writing a couple responses a day and have finished the latest chapter of our Gotham fic... there WILL be spanking in this chapter! LOL! It'll be below the cut ;)

So I was catching up on a few posts, and I've noted a really cool aspect

vaysha does in her posts of adding beautiful pictures and quotes, and I have enjoyed seeing them and have come to look forward to it in her posts. Being fitfully inspired, I'm going to try to add some flavor to my LJ to share some of what I've come upon and think is worth sharing outside of the same old life updates.

I need a little humor as today was a bit of a bad day...

I got written up today over a mistake I had done last Saturday. I had tried to help a fellow employee by not creating a CRCV (corrective receiver) by adjusting a pallet quantity out RFCC (cycle count out) because I knew the remaining cases were coming on a load due to come in that afternoon, and doing the PR position, I knew the cases I'd RFCC'd out, I could RFCC back in with the new load. The inventory manager got pissed at me for doing so even though he told me he understood why I did it... I was just trying to make less overall adjustments on the ledger and save Twilla from getting in trouble. Instead, I got in trouble. :( No use crying over spilled milk. Thankfully, it's only a verbal, so it didn't effect my tuition reimbursement! (The good of this point! LOL!) I came home to check the status of my reimbursement to see it FINALLY has been reviewed meaning I gets a check! Woot! Just in time for our coming vacation the weekend of the 31st! =D

This is an oldie but a goodie that I found back when 300 first came out XD

And this is a new one, I think I saw it on DA, honestly I don't remember, but it's freaking hilarious! =D

...Brought to you by the letter P and the number 6! XD Can you tell I live with a toddler? LOL!

1) I was exhausted this morning... Nox was tossing and turning and my nose was chafed from blowing it all night last night. I was dreading work with only 2.5 hours of sleep, but the day actually went really smoothly. I didn't really feel like I was going to fall out like some days, and I think a lot of that was because I stayed pretty busy. My boss complimented Shannon and I for doing a great job right before I left which always makes me feel good. (I've also consecutively gotten at least an hour over 8hrs every day (since they have Shannon and I working six days but only really want us putting in 8hrs, I'm really looking forward to that pay check next week! Woot! =D)

2) Came home to the family and actually got in the pool with Lucian (verse watching from outside the pool... which is half the time :P) Of course we played with his new toy fish, and we also played catch with his water football when he wasn't demanding I piggyback him around the pool LOL! He made me get my exercise for sure! Jason made us a really nice meal of baked well seasoned tilapia and french cut green beans while Nox and I relaxed on the bed to breast feed after Lucian and I got our showers and played the daily color game (I have a ceramic fox cookie jar I picked up from Cracker Barrel (if you don't know, I absolutely ADORE foxes!) it hold a bunch of M&M's, and it's a 'game' Lucian wants to play every time he is brought to the bathroom to point at it and yell" FOX!" of course! :P

3) I made today my kick back and relax day after finishing my student responses for the discussion board. I've been dying to catch up on my emails, and the first thing I did was read the next chapter to a wonderful story

So, I'm a bit distressed. The work I'm doing has been okay so far, but the past two weeks I've gotten about 38 hours... which makes for a sorry paycheck when you are used to working an average of 50+ a week. I'm a little scared because yesterday and today I only was able to get 8hrs and then 9hrs with an 'expected' 8hrs a day on average while the volume is low... 4 days a week! Around 32hrs a week? Are you fucking kidding me?! =( I can't support my family on that being the sole provider, not to mention they are pulling $146.62 a week out of my check for insurance (normally $131) for back pay for the last month before I returned for work. It's really stressing me out :(

On the positive side, I had a rough week for school work, and the extra time gave me what I needed to get my final project done that I somehow managed to misread at first (most classes I've taken at CTU, the last assignment is usually an add on to the previous week's major project (this was a 10 to 12 slide Powerpoint with 200-300 words per slide) the next week was the same making the project a 20 to 24 slide project... I spent from 1PM to midnight working on that as I misread it to be an additive of quality management of 2 to 3 slides as it looked almost identical to the first... thankfully I noted the difference and was able to get it done on time! Yay! This teacher is also super fast with grading! =D

So, Tuesday I was hailed to the ops manager's office walked up there by the manager of my department and my supervisor (to which I'm thinking oh shit, did I fuck something up so bad somehow that I'm going to be fired? ...I had the week previously had to cover both clerk positions doing everything myself, so I thought maybe I might have made a mistake by overlooking something. I'm very anal retentive about my work though, and thankfully that was not the case.)

I made it through another semester... probably my hardest yet! 0o

I finished with an A thankfully, although I am sure if it were up to my teacher I would have only gotten an A- ... honestly, I don't know how the other students did, but her grading policy seemed rather stringent. I had a high A in all the tests ranking only a couple of points off of a 100%, but I couldn't get more than a 69 out of 75 points for any of her discussion boards. She stated that if I wanted to demonstrate a mastery of the subject that I should go beyond the assignment by responding to more than two students... try not to respond all at once instead spacing out my responses (Wha? Lady, I work and am raising a toddler, I don't have time to space out my responses to fulfill what exactly I'm not really sure *growl*) etc... so another words, you want me to do extra credit work that is not asked for in order to get my full grade? WTF? Does anyone else think that is asshattery?

I know I have been rather MIA lately. I've been kind of depressed and feeling very unhappy with my job lately (or rather the people over me as I like the actual work I do) I won't get really into it but to say there is a certain level of bull that I will put up with, and being threatened to be written up for working fifteen minutes or so over when the girl right next to me is working around an hour over daily is not going to fly. I called HR, and I'm going to have a talk with them as soon as I can. I'm not going to lose my tuition assistance over getting a write up for completing my job in a function that has always gotten the office staff a little overtime being the nature of the job not the fact that "I'm not wrapping it up more quickly" *end rant* Sorry, I just had to get that out. It's been a rough week :(

I know it's been a while since I updated. Life has been super crazy between work and school, but it's a little less so now that I withdrew from one of my classes this past weekend. We ended our fiscal year at DG, so there has been a lot of tying up of loose ends in paperwork, but I finished the time sensitive stuff this morning, so a lot of that stress is past. As for school, everything was going great in both my Human Resource and Math classes. I would have stuck it out if not for a very unfair grading curve in my HR course.

I work a night shift job from 5PM to 3:30AM, A 10 hour shift Mon-Thurs... Okay, now I understand that I work in a warehouse and have to deal with mandatory overtime. It sucks, but I can deal; but when we are instructed tonight when we get to work (I don't work Fridays... so I'm already doing 10 hours overtime) I find out we will also be working Sunday... grr... okay *sigh* this is ass that I'm only going to get one day off, but yet I can still deal... but wait! it gets worse! Not only are we coming in Sunday, (And next Friday and Sunday until further notice) but we are informed that this Sunday it'll be at 6AM!!! WTF?!? I work nights for a reason! So now I'm supposed to fuck my sleep schedule up and do a total flip flop. I just got home from work like 30 minutes ago! and I won't get to sleep until around 9AM because I have promised a friend I would give her a ride to Drill in the morning. I'll probably wake up around 3PM and will have to go to bed around 10ish to wake up at 4AM and get ready and head back into work... so that's what? 7 hours of awake time before my weekend is over? WTF!?! (Can you tell I'm pissed?)
