And something new...

spankingfemmeSo I was catching up on a few posts, and I've noted a really cool aspect vaysha does in her posts of adding beautiful pictures and quotes, and I have enjoyed seeing them and have come to look forward to it in her posts. Being fitfully inspired, I'm going to try to add some flavor to my LJ to share some of what I've come upon and think is worth sharing outside of the same old life updates.
I need a little humor as today was a bit of a bad day...
I got written up today over a mistake I had done last Saturday. I had tried to help a fellow employee by not creating a CRCV (corrective receiver) by adjusting a pallet quantity out RFCC (cycle count out) because I knew the remaining cases were coming on a load due to come in that afternoon, and doing the PR position, I knew the cases I'd RFCC'd out, I could RFCC back in with the new load. The inventory manager got pissed at me for doing so even though he told me he understood why I did it... I was just trying to make less overall adjustments on the ledger and save Twilla from getting in trouble. Instead, I got in trouble. :( No use crying over spilled milk. Thankfully, it's only a verbal, so it didn't effect my tuition reimbursement! (The good of this point! LOL!) I came home to check the status of my reimbursement to see it FINALLY has been reviewed meaning I gets a check! Woot! Just in time for our coming vacation the weekend of the 31st! =D
This is an oldie but a goodie that I found back when 300 first came out XD
And this is a new one, I think I saw it on DA, honestly I don't remember, but it's freaking hilarious! =D
My brain is not working very well at the moment... lack of sleep is taking its toll :/
Wed:
1) Had a really nice home cooked meal where Jason made his first turkey :) I'm proud of him! I made turkey gravy from the drippings and stuffing; and we both put together the cheesy scallop potatoes and Jason prepared the peas for a lovely sleep inducing meal.
2) We took the kids on a walk up the road to Brantly's house, so Lucian could play and Jason and I enjoyed chatting with his mom, Amber.
3) Boardwalk Empire! I finally got to see the latest episode! It's getting thick and shit is about to hit the fan! Would love to chat about it in the comments if anyone else is watching the show ;)
Thurs:
1) Got my student responses done for the first discussion board and did a bit of research for the weekly main paper.
2) Worked with Lucian on learning to spell the word 'fox' I've got a cookie jar shaped like a fox in the bedroom filled with M&M's we were using to teach Lucian colors (speaking of, he's gotten the concepts down very well! He was struggling with red for a while, and Jason and I were starting to worry if he might be color blind, but it was just giving him a hard time, so Yay! =D) Anyway, Lucian is working on the spelling, but we aren't quite there yet, but I do think he's starting to understand the concept a little better. Lucian and I also spent a good 45 minutes playing on his talking Tom app, and he's getting so much better at using my ipad :) He makes me so proud!
3) Watched Hell on Wheels! OMG! Tragedy and tears! *choked up!* Why do you do this to me show! *cries!*
Fri:
1) I baked brownies for a bake sale to help a fellow employee whose wife passed from a seizure. I don't personally know the man, but I heard he was struggling, and a fellow colleague came up with the idea to raise some funds to send his way to help cover funeral costs and what not. I hope she was able to get enough people to participate, either way, I'm glad I was able to help in some way. Technically this was a good thing for Thursday not Friday, but I didn't finish making them and packing them away until 12:17AM LOL! So we'll give it to Friday.
2) I got to talking with Michelle before leaving work, and we bullshitted for over an hour about all kinds of fandom! Yay! Fellow geeks in my midst! LOL! XD AND, she is a Hell od Wheels fan! *squee!* (No one else I know seems to have even heard of this show, so finding a friend that wants to talk about it had yet to happen)
3) We had our Friday outing with Scott, and we went back for more Mexican (my second favorite... sushi is my all time fave food, but it's just too damn expensive! 0o)
We just got the kids bathed and put to bed, so now we get to relax a little and maybe I'll get to sleep before midnight? Not likely LOL! It's already 11:20PM, and I want to do a bit of emailing before bed :P I know, I'm a bad girl, but I've got to get a little unwinding in before work tomorrow followed by doing a paper Sunday (which usually takes at least 7 hours... wish me luck to knock it out quickly! :P)
