spankingfemmeI'm seriously glad to be home! I still have a few days left before I have to go back to work, and me and the family are relaxing.
So the smoky mountains... we left out a couple hours later than we'd wanted, but since the DVR had started deleting episodes, so we wanted to get some TV watching in before we left town to make sure we didn't lose anymore, so we didn't get to bed until around 2AM :P We did get the first four episodes of Doctor Who watched which was fun.
Thurs:
1) The scenery and weather were fantastic! It was a nice ride. Lucian behaved in the car but was a little turd in the restaurant and absolutely horrid at the check in office...
2) Got to the cabin and unloaded the car, and it was already past the time when we were supposed to be at the Halloween event, but it was going until 9PM, so we still had an hour and a half. We got there and ended up waiting in line for about an hour, but it wasn't so bad since there was a grassy area (it was a school hosting the event) and Lucian had a blast running around with the other kids. It was a little cold, but not too bad. Lucian came away with a butt load of candy!
3) We found a lovely restaurant called, Cheddar's, and there was a fantastic creole shrimp dish (and a REALLY nice house wine *eyebrow wiggle*) The kids went to bed without any issues (most likely worn out from the drive) It left Jason and I a nice break in the hot tub where Jason was sweet enough to give me a foot rub! (This was one of the best days we had)
Friday:
1) It was cold all day and rainy all night, and since we had the time share deal at 12:30, we hung out and relaxed at the cabin until about 10:30AM which was nice. The cabin was super nice like a home away from home! =D
2) We went to breakfast up the road at a pancake diner (crappy service!) There was absolutely no other customers in the place, and the waitress dropped off our food and sat across the way chatting with another waitress never coming by to check on us until she brought the bill (which is why she only got a $2 and some odd cents tip... Jason had ordered a coffee to wake up and had wanted a water to go with his meal, and they had literally dumped a crap ton of jalapenos on mine (and I like spice, but I want to taste (and see) the rest of my food through them... whatever, I picked a bunch of them off and they came in handy later) There was a lot of food, so we had leftovers which came in handy not having to buy more food later.
3) We went to the time share and decided to get the vacation sampler, so next year we will have a vacation and the option to buy at a later time. We were there until after 5, so we missed the noon to 5 Halloween event, which was fine. We went to Walmart and grabbed food for a few meals before going to the second Halloween event (We didn't stay long because of the ice cold rain.... I didn't even want to go out honestly, but Jason complained we spent too much on the costumes not to go out... honestly, we would have only lost out on Nox's outfit since Nox can wear Lucian's in a couple years, but we went. The experience was as awesome as you can imagine an outside event in the cold rain would be... thankfully no one got sick, and Lucian got more candy which he was all down for.
Sat:
It's REALLY hard to find anything positive about Sat... it was so cold and rainy all day and night, I spent the whole day doing homework, and Jason and I fought on and off while Lucian harassed Nox and the one highlight of my day I had been looking forward to, Lucian was an absolute terror.. :( There was some good though...
1) We were able to get a hotspot from the main office as I was worried I was going to have to go hang out in a McDonald's to do my report (although in hindsight, this may have been better LOL!)
2) I got my report done, so I was able to enjoy Sunday without it niggling at the back of my mind.
3) We went to Joe's crab shack for dinner (Crab is my all time favorite food next to sushi, so all trip I had been looking forward to going since before we got to Gatlinberg, and the crab was delicious!)
Sun:
1) We had a leisurely morning doing a little internetting before heading out to the Ripley's aquarium, and the day had turned out to be quite pretty if a little chilly.
2) Lucian had a blast at the aquarium (I took pics I'm going to put a link to with pics of the cabin as well) We had a nice dinner at a Mexican restaurant right outside the aquarium, and they had a bird feeder overlooking a river pass, so we spent a dollar worth of quarters to let Lucian feed the birds :)
3) We got a bottle of Jack the night before, and we were able to kick back half of it after the kids were put to bed.
Mon:
1) Fall back happened meaning an extra hour to sleep in before 11AM check out LOL!
2) The ride back was also nice, and we found a nice hometown restaurant to eat lunch at.
3) We made it home by 3:30, so we had plenty of time to still relax and enjoy the day. We all took a couple hour nap before getting up and just relaxing. We watched more Doctor Who before retiring for the night (I totally missed my class to LOL! I hadn't realized it until the class was 20 minutes to being done and said to hell with it.
Tues:
1) It was so nice to have a day to kick back after traveling and know that it wasn't going to be the last day of my vacation! LOL! I am SO glad I took the rest of the week as well! :P
2) I watched the class I missed the night before, and we finished off the rest of the Jack as we watched the last two episodes of Doctor Who (why did there have to be one left gah! evil part one finale cliff hanger!) We had to do a little shopping to replenish the fridge, so after the slight buzz wore off, we did that and commenced with relaxing and doing some internetting.
3) I attended my last class of this course, and I did my discussion board along with student response, so all I have left is the last IP! YAY! I'm SO happy to be done with this class! She hasn't posted my grade yet, so I'm anxious as always just wanting to know what I got. oO We finished off the day with watching the last three episodes of Forever (Can you tell we have a lot of TV to catch up on? :P One of my goals is to be caught up before I go back to work ;)
Wed:
1) I had plans to start my last assignment, but I'm procrastinating as I just didn't feel like it today. Instead, we tried to use our 'diner's dough' cards (so freaking lame... we got them from the time share deal, and of course there is all kinds of stipulations to use them. They are basically glorified 50% off coupons that you have to spend a set amount to use and only at these unknown restaurants that you have to first print the coupon off to even use... not what they made it out to be when they explained them, needless to say, it's still a better deal than full price) We found a nice Jamaican restaurant withing 20 miles from us, and the food was really good and affordable! We had to work to spend $50 to spend the $25 coupon! We will definitely be going back for sure :)
2) We needed an oil change after the long trip, and there was a place right up the road that had us in and out in about 15 minutes!
3) I'm caught up with the newer emails and Devianart, and I finally got around to updating for you guys (Sorry it took so long, I'm lazy this week :P) I have the new computer pretty well set up now. I still have to find my comic database... I was transferring and managed to drag and drop it somewhere in my external hard drive *pout* I looked everywhere, and only found one from a year ago (which is better than nothing, but still sucks... something to worry about later...) Plans to watch some more TV shows and I've been walking on the treadmill for about two hours, so feeling pretty good (had to counterbalance that cake we got at the Jamaican restaurant! LOL! XD Oh! And I have a 2 hour massage I booked last week for tomorrow! *squee!* I can't wait! =D
This post is pretty full, so I'll hold off on the paper and just post it with my other one since it is a two part assignment anyway ;)
